The Hill (2010)

The hill woke up,
the sun burned his shoulder,
the hill was too high,
the sun was to close,
the sky alarmed the ground
rain was about to come,
folks looked up and stared down
down the sea was rising
and the sun pushed its beam closer
folks twisted around and decided to say

we are birds

and they start to make noise;

pitpitpitpitpit

from above the sun someone woke up
and decided to send wings
someone said who wants to be a bird must be an angel

and thus wings felt down

the folks on the hill where satisfied
one wing went to drink from the sea
the other wing went up, to kiss the sun

the sun said ho, but the wing went up,
until the wing burned and felt down on top of the hill

folks beside the hill said that’s no place to go
folks in the sea said that’s no place to go,
we will be burned and than we sink
so no one came on top of the hill where the sun was to close

birds felt down as their wings got tired in the hush of night,
two wings became brothers that touched the grass and cows where born,
the hill said you’ve touched my grass, you’ve eaten it, you have destroyed it,

the man above the sun woke up and said cows need borders, and borders came, the western hill was green, the other side pale, eaten and left alone, there where no birds there, there where no cows there, there where no border there, since why should they be, the western side became pale as well, since the cows where locked in their own needed borders
the man above said that’s not good

they need to understand each other
in order to know why i gave them borders

than the western side also died;
and the man above the sun felt asleep again.
